Auscal 03 Flight Calibration of Perth's Rwys today

Airservices Australia Beech KingAir350 VH-FIY msn FL-779 operated 7 flight calibration runs on Perth Airport's North / South RWY's 21/03, and East / West RWY's 06/24 between 09.34hrs and 11.00hrs today. The calibration flights were however interupted by a weather cell with thunder and lightning which crossed the coast and Perth Airport between 09.50hrs and 10.30hrs. Hexcode: 7C1A88

Qantas Jet returns to airport after take-off

Qantas Airways B767-336 (ER) VH-ZXE msn 24343 departed 09.13hrs for Sydney as flight 'QF642' and returned to the airport soon after take-off experiencing an undercarriage problem. The aircraft vented approx 600 kilos of fuel for an acceptable landing weight, and landed at 09.30hrs on RWY24  proceeding back to the terminal.  VH-ZXE eventually departed off RWY03 at 10.47hrs without incident heading to Sydney (YSSY).  Hexcode: 7C81D0

B747-412F (SCD) 9V-SFK SQC7294

Singapore Airlines B747-412F (SCD) 9V-SFK msn 28030 'Mega Ark' arrived 18.30hrs ex: Singapore Changi (WSSS) Airport as flight 'SQC7294' and departed at 21.33hrs to Melbourne Tullamarine (YMML) Airport as same, arriving at 03.22hrs (AEST)+1 then continued onto Auckland thereafter as same. Hexcode: 76CCCB

B747-438 QF581/582 today 'City of Canberra'

Qantas Airways B747-438 VH-OJA msn 24354 named 'City of Canberra' operated today's 'QF581/582' services from / to Sydney, operating in lieu of B747-438 VH-OJD who operated Sydney-Narita-Sydney.

VH-OJA arrived 12.25hrs landing RWY21 and departed at 14.17hrs . Hexcode: 7C4824

Qatar's last to visit B77L A7-BBD debuts today!

Qatar Airways B777-2DZ(LR) A7-BBD msn 36016 finally made her debut visit into Perth, West Australia today operating the airline's 'QR900/901' services from / to Doha, arriving 17.13hrs  landing RWY03 and departed at 22.51hrs returning to Doha.

Of particular note was A7-BBI operating the airline's inaugural service, and A7-BBB operating the airlines 50th flight to Perth (as seen above) since services commenced on July 3rd 2012.

There still are another nine Qatar Airways still aircraft yet to visit Perth,  those all being B77Ws.

3 x Singapore A/Lines T7s together today at Perth

Singapore Airline's morning departure 'SQ224' from Perth to Singapore was delayed due to the aircraft experiencing a failed actuator solenoid upon arrival into Perth earlier at 06.03hrs, this flight operated by B777-212 (ER) 9V-SQN msn 33373 and departed at 01.46hrs 2/11 returning to Singapore.

The replacement part arrived on this afternoon's 'SQ223' flight operated by 9V-SRN msn 32318 arriving at 14.33hrs and departed at 17.45hrs as flight 'SQ214'.

The lunchtime arrival of Singapore Airline's flight 'SQ213' operated by B777-212 (ER) 9V-SQM msn 33372 arrived at 13.02hrs, and departed at 15.38hrs returning as flight 'SQ226'.

Royal Brunei's new corporate colours unveiled

Royal Brunei Airlines has unveiled a new livery and logo which will be rolled out across its fleet, uniforms and website over the next year.


The new livery retains the yellow colour scheme currently in use, but has been simplified, with only the aircraft’s tailfin and fuselage logo now painted. The carrier has also dropped the ‘A’ from its ‘RBA’ abbreviation, with ‘RB’ now appearing on the tailfin.

The airline unveiled the new livery and logo on one of its Airbus A320 aircraft, and will rollout the new design across its fleet over the next year, with the rebranding scheduled to be completed in time for the delivery of Royal Brunei’s first Dreamliner in September 2013.


Speaking at the unveiling the carrier’s deputy chairman Dermot Mannion said:
“Over the next year, we will be redefining the Royal Brunei Airlines’ flying experience, starting with our classic styled new livery and logo. This redefinition is not merely an ad campaign, but rather a long term commitment to our passengers to create a family-like, peaceful and tranquil atmosphere with high class customer service.”
