China Eastern Airlines set to commence Shanghai - Perth (thrice weekly) five weekly trial flights from Jan 15th to February 17th 2020

Direct flights linking Perth and Shanghai, China will commence for a five week trial period commencing 15th January to end on 17th February 2020, with China Eastern Airlines set to operate three flights per week with Airbus A330-243 aircraft.

Premier, Mr Mark McGowan making the announcement in Perth today, was hopeful that direct flights between Shanghai & Perth would become permanent after the trial concludes end of February 2020.

The new direct flights will create more tourism jobs & also open up new business & export opportunities for West Australian businesses.

China Eastern Airlines operates a fleet of 29 Airbus A330-243 aircraft, the type that will operated on this new Shanghai to Perth trial route.

The flight time between Shanghai Pudong Intl Airport (ZSPD) China & Perth Airport (YPPH) Western Australia is 11hrs.30mins.
