A look back.

Emirates on 3rd March 2006, introduced its second daily service from Dubai to Perth (EK424/425) initially operated from (3rd March to 25th March 2006) on a trial period using Airbus A340-313X A6-ERS msn139 operating the inaugural service.

The first B777 aircraft of Emirates to fly this service on 2nd September 2006, when on that day B777-21H (LR) A6-EWI c/n 35589 operated the service/s.

Emirates announced on 10th July 2018, its intentions to drop its (EK424/425) service/s from its network, leaving just its daily flight to operated from Dubai to Perth (EK420/421) operated by Airbus A380 aircraft.

Thanks for the memories.

  1. Sign of the economic times, we completed three round trips to the UK with them, dissatisfied, we switched to QR and have completed five round trips with them. EK became ''cocky'' and very lazy cabin crew, and on QR,( and SQ) they allow you to have your window blind up during flight to look out the window, yes actually look out.
Sad for the airport as such, to lose another service having seen the multi billion loss making ETIHAD leave us ( and other airports) last year. The advent of the QF PER/LHR direct would have had a small dent in EKs figures, but bearing in mind half the load PER/LHR on QF are in transit from MEL. So now just the two bedtime departures across the ditch to the Middle East. Roll on ANA in September
