Air New Zealand will introduce Boeing 777 aircraft onto the Auckland to Perth route from Monday 3rd September 2012, replacing B767-300s. Aircraft substitutions will also be possible with B763 and or B777-300 aircraft being operated on a required basis.

This sees an increase of seat numbers rise from 234 seats (763) to 304 seats (777)

Boeing 767-200s were first introduced onto the route from March 1986, when B767-219 (ER) ZK-NBB c/n 23327 operated the first service replacing DC-10s on the Auckland to Perth and return services.

B767-300s replaced the B762s in October 1994, when B767-319 (ER) ZK-NCH  c/n 26264 was the first of the new type to visit Perth.
