Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) icebreaker & supply vessel Shirase AGB5003 arrived into Port of Fremantle on Thursday 24th November 2011, to replenish supplies before sailing to Antartica. This vessels carries two Kawasaki Heavy Industrie (KHI) Merlin CH-101 helicopters on board, security was extremely tight on the wharf however and we were able to see both helicopters & confirm their identities. The vessel sailed earlier today Wednesday 30th November for Antartica. The identities of the two helicopters were requested not to be published, thankyou for your understanding.
