Qantas B747-438 VH-OJL msn 25151 departed OR Tambo Airport, Johannesburg South Africa earlier today as Qantas flight QF6020 for Sydney. The aircraft crossed the West Australian coast near Lake Clifton south of Dawesville tracking 95 degrees, at FL350 and was travelling at 535.6 knots. After crossing the coast the aircraft climbed to FL370 for the mainland crossing to Sydney.(Photo above is for illustration purposes only & is 100% copyrighted) Updates : #1 VH-OJL arrived into Sydney tonight landing on RWY 16R at 21.59hrs (AEST) & thus bringing this incident to a close. #2 This aircraft also suffered from the exact same incident on 20th May 2011, on that occassion the aircraft returned back to Bangkok Airport safely landing with 308 passengers on board.
