Qatar Airways first commenced services to Perth Airport on 3rd July 2012, with the airline's inaugural flight operated by B777-2DZ (LR) A7-BBI c/n 41061, since then the airline has continued services between Hamad Intl Airport to Perth Airport Western Australia.
Today, on Monday, 10th January 2022 the airline operated its 3,000th return flight to Perth, this flight was operated by A350-1041 A7-ANN c/n 356 arrived at 18.12hrs landing RWY21 after a flight time of 10hrs.17mins & departed at 23.26hrs returning to Doha.
Over the journey the airline has operated a mixed type of aircraft on the route as follows:
B777-2DZ (LR) A7-BBI first visiting on 3rd July 2012, B777-3DZ (ER) A7-BAE first visiting on 9th August 2012, A350-941 A7-ALD first visit to Perth was on 9th September 2016 as a medical diversion, the first A350-1041 A7-ANF was noted arriving into Perth on 28th April 2020, and the first arrival of the A380-861 A7-API on 1st May 2018.
In 2020. Qatar Airways Cargo commenced a cargo service operating as flight 'QR8892/8893' operating between Qatar to Perth, with variations on the operating route operating via Melbourne & Singapore. These flights ended on 17th October 2020, with a total number of 50 flights operating throughout the duration.
The airlines only operating type that is yet visit Australia is their B787-8 Dreamliner.
