Effective 01 October 2012, Qantas will no longer offer a First Class service on its daily 747-400 services from Sydney to Johannesburg (QF63/64). Flights will be continue to offer a 3 cabin service of Business, Premium Economy and Economy. The flights are operated in code-share with South African Airways (SAA) and have been authorised to continue until 31 March 2013. It is uncertain if flights will continue to operate beyond this date should the International Air Services Commission refuse to further extend the code-share agreement with SAA.
Qantas 747 First Class will now only be offered on selected days from Sydney to Hong Kong (QF127/128) and temporarily during the A380 reconfiguration on selected days from Sydney to Los Angeles (QF11/12).
