Qantas subsidiary airline Network Aviation of Perth took delivery today of their latest Fokker 100 aircraft registered as VH-NHK msn 11465 ex: Avianca Airlines HK-4430 and test flew under the Dutch registration of PH-AQB.

Arriving ex: Jakarta Halim (WIHH) as flight 'SXI1251' landed into Perth at 13.13hrs at the end of its long ferry flight from the Netherlands. Ferried by Southern Cross Aviation and flying under the flight number / callsign of: 'SXI1251 / Southern Cross 1251'

Qatar Airways B777-2DZ (LR) A7-BBG msn 36101 operated today's 'QR900/901' services from Doha to Perth arriving at 17.08hrs landing RWY03 and departed at 22.51hrs for the return as flight 'QR901 back to Doha. Hexcode: 06A07D

With six of the nine Qatar Airways B777-2DZ (LR's) to have now visited Perth, since services commenced earlier this month on 3rd July, we await now for the 3 remaining 777s to visit, those being B,C and D.

Polet Cargo Airlines Antonov An-124-100 RA-82068 msn 977305135917 arrived into Brisbane (YBBN) today at 03.52hrs (EST) and departed for Perth at 07.31hrs (EST).

The aircraft operating as flight 'POT4770' arrived at 10.58hrs after a flight time of 5hrs.27mins, landing RWY21 (as seen here above). This aircraft carrying tonnes of mining equipment for the state's North West off loaded this afternoon onto a fleet of semi trailers.

The Ruslan departed Perth at 11.29hrs Sunday 29th July to Utapo Intl Airport (VTBU) Pattaya, Thailand as flight 'POT4769' with a flight time of 6hrs.44mins, and ETA of 17.13hrs LT.  Hexcode: 154094  

Air Asia X 'XAX236D/237' slight flight delay today.

Air Asia's morning arrival ex: KL today was slightly delayed this morning, the aircraft's actual arrIval / departure times below. (note the inbound flight number was adjusted accordingly for the delay) for the sake of an hour I wouldn't have bothered....but there you go!

Typhoon Vicente delays CX flights to Perth

Cathay Pacific Airways flights to Perth from Hong Kong have been delayed today due to 'Typhoon Vicente' which has affected flights departing from the airport.

Update of effected flights effective 26/07:

Flight 'CX171D' operated by A330-343X B-HLO msn 393 departed Hong Kong (VHHH) at 17.44hrs (LT) 25/07 with a flight time of 7hrs.51mins to Perth, and arrived at 01.24hrs landing RWY21, the outbound return flight 'CX170' to Hong Kong (VHHH) departed Perth at 02.55hrs with an ETA of 10.24hrs 26/07. Threat of fog at Perth Airport today : Airlines re-time flight arrivals just in case.

With the threat of fog at Perth Airport today, due to clear skies, no wind and low day time max temperatures with last night's overnight minimum of 1 degress, airlines with early morning arrivals into Perth have adjusted there inbound arrival times accordingly.


China Southern Airlines A330-343E B-6500 flight CSN319 arrived 07.46hrs then departed at 09.18hrs for the return flight back to China.
Qantas Airways A330-303 VH-QPC  flight QF68 arrived on-time 06.30hrs, and with a changing of aircraft A330-303 VH-QPD departed at 11.15hrs returning to Hong Kong as flight QF67 .
Singapore Airlines B777-212 (ER) 9V-SQK flight SQ225 arrived 06.45hrs then departed at 08.09hrs for the return flight SQ224 back to Singapore.
Air Asia X A330-343E 9M-XXH  flight XAX237 departed 00.48hrs and arrived into KLIA at 06.37hrs (LT) today. This flight having had arrived late yesterday evening at 23.09hrs.

Today's SAA SA280/281 A343 delayed due to Hong Kong's Typhoon Vincente yesterday

Today's South African Airways  flights 'SA280/281' between Johannesburg (FAJS) and Perth (YPPH) and return has been delayed due "Typhoon Vicente" in Hong Kong area yesterday that effected many international airlines services, and thus is having a knock on effect on airlines scheduled flights today trying to catch up .

Today's service departed at 08.41hrs (LT) as flight 'SA9280' and is being operated by A340-313E ZS-SXB msn 582 which at arrived 22.05hrs, and departed (39mins late) at 00.42hrs 26/07returning to South Africa.

SAA Qantas code share agreement update.

South African Airways (SAA) and Qantas Airways (QFA) have been granted an interim extention of permission to codeshare on flights between Johannesburg (JNB) and Perth (PER) and Sydney (SYD) by the Australian International Air Services Commission. The extention is valid until the end of March 2013.

The two carriers are seeking a three-year extention of permission for the arrangement, and a decision is expected later this year. Under the agreement, flights between JNB and PER are operated by SAA, while flights to SYD are operated by QF.

Following this decision, SAA General Manager Commercial Theunis Potgieter said the airline would increase the number of flights between JNB and PER from 6 services per week to daily services in mid-August. It will also codeshare on QF's seven flights a week between JNB and SYD.

SAA has operated the Perth route for more than 50 years, making it one of the airline's longest established destinations.

TWO..Qantas 747-438s in Perth together...

Had I not seen it...I wouldnt have believed it, but yes two Qantas Airways B747-438s VH-OJC msn 24406 and VH-OJD msn 24481 both operated flights into Perth ex: Sydney today.

Flight #1: VH-OJD arrived 12.59hrs as flight 'QF581' and departed at 16.32hrs as flight 'QF566' from / to YSSY.

Flight #2: VH-OJC arrived 16.15hrs as flight 'QF577' and departed at 17.35hrs as flight 'QF6111' from / to YSSY.

Fog diverts Tiger Airways A320 to Kalgoorlie!

Fog at Perth Airport earlier today diverted this Tiger Airways A320-232 VH-VNC msn 3275 to Kalgoorlie Regional Airport (YPKG) operating as flight 'TGW182' en-route from Melbourne to Perth.

Being unable to land the A320 headed to (YPKG) arriving at 09.35hrs after a 42min flight, and departed Kalgoorlie at 11.01hrs returning to Perth, arriving at 11.55hrs as flight 'TGW8184'.

VH-VNC departed Perth for Melbourne (YMML) at 13.15hrs as flight 'TGW183'.

Perth's Skywest Airlines also had 2 known flights also effected this morning from Albany & Kalgoorlie, with one diverting and the other returning back to the airport in which it had departed from.

The fog was later than usual today, and  thus did not not effect many of the  early morning departures from the airport. With more cold mornings expected this week, more foggy mornings could be on the horizion with flights being disrupted. We hope not!

Variety Club of WA's 'Charity Flight Day' to YBLN

The Variety Club of Western Australia together in partnership with Skywest Airlines and Amity Travelworld  Floreat Park in organized today's 'Charity Flight Day' to Busselton.

Passengers enjoyed a pre flight Champagne Breakfast before boarding on of three Skywest's Fokker 50s for a scenic flight to Busselton, upon arrivalwere welcomed by AEGWA member and Busselton resident Peter Watson, before then travelling to Laurence Winery for  2 course luncheon, then spending a leisurely afternoon relaxing at the Cheeky Monkey Brewery and Cidery.

The three Skywest Airlines Fokker 50 aircraft chartered for today's flight were: VH-FNI departed at 08.54hrs, VH-FSL departed at 08.50hrs and VH-FNH departed at 09.25hrs.
